After almost half a year of planning and coordinating, finally The PhD Movie 2 was successfully screened at Karolinska Institutet Solna campus. The movie is an adaptation from the well-known web comic strip: Piled Higher and Deeper (aka. PhD Comics).
More than 200 people came to the event, including undergraduates, PhD students, postdocs, and some random people etc.! 🙂
Interestingly, Prof. Ingemar Ernberg was also here. Hum….maybe he is wondering is there any of his PhD students escaping from the lab to watch the movie. As prof. Smith said in the movie, “You should stay in the lab from 9 to 5”! It could be 5 pm or preferably 5 am. 😦
The movie is absolutely fabulous! We simultaneously laughed and “cried” at the same moment during the movie. Jorge Cham, the creator of the PhD Comics was warmly welcomed by all the attendees and he answered so many funny questions.
I even saw people tossing a coin to decide who can get the last PhD comic book with his/her own portrait drew by Jorge.
Well, as the coordinator, I am so happy and proud to see so many people love the event that I organized. This could not be achieved without sponsor from Career Service Office or help from Doctoral Student Association (DSA) at KI. I also sincerely thank KTH student union (PhD chapter) for advertising the event at KTH.
