The light at the end of the PhD tunnel

A Bright Christmas #15.

Life goes on, even during the pandemic. In 2020 the world welcomed approximately 300 new researchers graduating from the doctoral program at Karolinska Institutet. In this podcast you will hear the questions a “PhD-soon-to-be”, Yildiz Kelahmetoglu, has for two “new PhDs” Oksana Goroshchuk and Joanne Bakker, who defended their PhD thesis earlier this year. In the interview they share their experiences and tips on how to get ready to the online defense, reveal some funny memories from that period of life and talk about their future plans.

Participating bloggers: Joanne Bakker, Oksana Goroshchuk and Yildiz Kelahmetoglu

  1. There was no better feeling than the END. I remember during my defense when I clicked to my last slide, it was as if a weight the size of the world had lifted off my shoulders. But there was a time when I was sure I wouldn’t make it to that point.
